 বরুন উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়

১৯৭২ সালে যুদ্ধবিধ্বস্থ একটি দেশ বাংলাদেশ এর জন্ম হয়েছে মাত্র। দেশের আর্থ-সামাজিক অবস্থা অনেকটা নাজুক। তাছাড়া তৎকালীন অবস্থায় বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষার হারও অনেক কম ছিল। দেশের অনেক স্কুল মাদ্রাসা যুদ্ধে ধ্বংস্তুপে পরিণত হয়েছিল। এমতাঅবস্থায়, আমাদের বরুন গ্রাম ও আশেপাশের মানুষের শিক্ষাগ্রহণ ছিল অনেক কঠিন। অনেক দূরের দুর্গম পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে অনেক কষ্ট করে ছাত্রছাত্রীদের লেখা পড়া করতে যেতে হত। ছেলেদের যাওয়া দূরুহ তবুও যাওয়া সম্ভব হলেও মেয়ের পক্ষে একেবারেই অসম্ভব ছিল। অভাবের তাড়নায় লেখা পড়ার অবস্থা যেখানে দুরহ তার উপর দুরের পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে লেখাপড়া করা অত্যান্ত কঠিন ছিল বিদায় বেশির ভাগ লোক লেখাপড়া ছেড়ে দিয়েছিল। শিক্ষানুরাগী আমাদের গ্রামে পরম শ্রদ্ধেয় গুরুজনদের তাগিদ থেকেই ১৯৭২ সালে বরুন জুনিয়র হাইস্কুল নামে এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিষ্ঠার উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেন। হাটি হাটি পা পা করে চলতে চলতে আজকের এই ঐতিয্যবাহি প্রতিষ্ঠানটি প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয়েছে, স্বগৌরবে যার সুনামে চারদিকে জয় জয়কার আর গর্বিত বরুন গ্রামের জনগণ, গর্বিত অত্র প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রাক্তন ও বর্তমানের সকল ছাত্রছাত্রীবৃন্ধ।

প্রতিষ্ঠানের পথ চলা :  চলার শুরুতে প্রতিষ্ঠানের ছিলনা কোন ঘর, ছাত্র ছাত্রীও খুব কম, গাছের মধ্যেই একটি বোর্ড টানিয়ে শিক্ষানুরাগী সেচ্ছাসেবী বরুন গ্রামের জনগণের দ্বারা শিক্ষা দেয়ার কার্যক্রম শুরু হয়। প্রথমে এলাকার শিক্ষিত অর্ধশিক্ষিত জনগণের দ্বারাই শিক্ষা কার্যক্রম পরিচালিত হতে থাকে। স্বেচ্ছাসেবী শিক্ষকগণের মধ্যে অনেক হয়তো বেঁচে আছেন অনেকেই নেই। ধীরে ধীরে খোলা মাঠ থেকে বাশেঁর বেড়ার ঘর, মাটির তৈরি টিনের ঘর, পাকা টিনের ঘর বর্তমানে একটি তিন তলা বিশিষ্ট দালান ঘর। বর্তমান সময়ের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা হয়তো কল্পনা করতেও পারবে না বেড়ার ঘরের স্কুলটি কেমন ছিল?  আজকে এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের এত উন্নতি আমাদের এই পুনর্মিলনী অনুষ্ঠান দেখে যে সকাল শিক্ষক বেঁচে আছেন তারা হয়তো আবেগে আপলোত বা পুলকিত  আর যারা পরপারে আছেন তারাও হয়তো মহিমান্বিত। 

Barun High School

Bangladesh was just born in 1972 as a war-torn country. The socio-economic condition of the country is very fragile. Moreover, the education rate in Bangladesh was very low at that time. Many schools and madrasas in the country were destroyed in the war. In this situation, it was very difficult for the people of  Barun village and its vicinity to get education. The students had to travel a long distance to read and write with great difficulty. It was difficult for the boys to go, but it was impossible for the girl to go. Due to the scarcity of reading and writing, it was very difficult to cross the distance and study. Barun Junior High School was established in 1972 at the urging of the highly respected elders in our village. Today, this traditional institution has been established by walking hand in hand, with the glory of which the people of Barun village, all the former and present students of this institution are proud.

The Starting  of the organization : At the beginning of the operation, the organization had no house, there were very few students and the people of Barun village started teaching by pulling a board in the tree. At first the educational activities were conducted by the educated and semi-educated people of the area. Many of the volunteer teachers may not have survived. From the gradually open field to the Basher fence house, the earthen tin house, the pucca tin house is now a three stored building house. Today's students may not even imagine what the fence house school was like. Today we see so much improvement in this institution in our reunion ceremony that the morning teachers who are alive may be overwhelmed with emotion and those who are in the hereafter may also be glorious.
